MAEI welcomes the opening of all chapters in Albania’s EU membership negotiations

The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI), the only political party representing the Macedonian community in Albania, welcomes the opening of all chapters in the negotiations for Albania’s membership in the European Union. This significant step marks the country’s entry into a new phase and brings it closer to its strategic goal – full EU membership.

MAEI encourages the Government of Albania to continue its dedicated efforts in fulfilling all necessary reforms, including those related to guaranteeing the rights of the Macedonian minority and all other minorities in the country. The implementation of European standards in the area of human rights and the protection of national identities is crucial for successful progress in the integration process.

With Albania’s membership in the European Union, Albanian citizens will no longer be forced to seek passports from other EU member states, which often use these practices to exert influence and assimilate communities in Albania.

European integration is supported by all citizens of Albania, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, and represents a common aspiration for a safer, more democratic, and more developed future.
