The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI) has filed a lawsuit at the Tirana Administrative Court of First Instance against the government’s decision to open three migrant centers in the territory of the Municipality of Pustec, a municipality inhabited by the Macedonian national minority.
Through this lawsuit, MAEI seeks the exclusion of the Municipality of Pustec from the state plan to open migrant centers, arguing that the decision was taken without consultation with local authorities, without transparency, and without the involvement of the local community, in violation of the Constitution, existing laws, and international standards for the protection of the rights of national minorities.

MAEI considers that this decision undermines the interests, security, and demographic stability of the Macedonian community in the Municipality of Pustec and sets a dangerous precedent for the treatment of minority areas without institutional respect.
Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI) will continue its legal and institutional battle until the full protection of the rights and dignity of the Macedonian community in Albania is ensured.
